Why not celebrate your love for your village of Haddenham by helping to create an idyllic (and romantic!) wildlife and recreation area at Wayman’s Pits. (That’s the old landfill site by the Steam Rally Field.) This area has now been leased by the County Council, long term, to the Parish Council. On Sunday February 14th at 10am we will be planting a new hedgerow of native species. Come along with your partner – or on your own – who knows who you might meet! The hedgerow planting is the first step in the plan to enhance this area and turn it into an attractive village amenity. We aim to create an open area for all to enjoy; family outings, picnics, games, dog walking, wild life appreciation, exercise or just for quiet contemplation. Looking further into the future we plan to erect new fencing, sow wild flowers, install seats and picnic tables. There will be bat and bird boxes, new fencing, and wildflower sowing - lots more opportunities to express and develop your love of the outdoors, and to keep fit and active! So we hope to see you on the 14th. It would be shocking if you didn’t remember! Please come equipped with strong boots or shoes, gloves and a spade, if possible. All welcome. Why not make it a family party? All enquiries to Julie Parr tel. 741380
