Ever considered standing for election for Haddenham Parish Council?  Well now is your chance.  Parish Council elections will be held on Thursday 3rd May 2007 and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who would be interested in standing as a candidate.

Haddenham Parish Council has recently been awarded Quality Status, striving to carry out its duties to serve the community and you could be a part of that.  The work is rewarding and you can make a difference.

If you would like more information regarding the activities of the Council and the criteria required to stand for election then please contact Jenny Manning via the methods listed at the end of this article and she will be pleased to help and advise you.  Nomination papers are also available from her or alternatively visit www.eastcambs.gov.uk where you can view and download all the necessary documents.

If you will be 18years of age on Wednesday 2nd May 2007 you could also qualify to stand as a candidate.

Nomination Papers must be lodged with The Returning Officer at East Cambs District Council by Noon on Monday 2nd April 2007.

To promote the election the Council will produce a leaflet featuring a photo and short paragraph about each candidate and this will be distributed to as many homes in Haddenham & Aldreth as possible during April.  So, if you want to be featured please contact Jenny by March 31st and she will ensure that you are included.

Go on, don’t just think about it, do it!!!!
