Built in the late nineteenth century the Aldreth Village Centre is the village’s former Baptist chapel, and has been the home of Tinderbox Pre-school for the last 25 years. The hall was bought for the community with Lottery funding in 2000, and is managed for the village by a committee of volunteers. The Aldreth Village Centre provides a venue for annual events, including Blossoms and Bygones, the Aldreth quiz night, and Christmas concerts, and for meetings of local groups and classes.
It retains much of its Arts and Crafts charm and is available for hire for children’s birthday parties, exhibitions, performances, community groups etc. It will accommodate up to 100 people, and is divisible into two smaller spaces for smaller numbers. It has kitchen (though not cooking) and toilet facilities, and a soft-surface children’s play area outside. In 2013, it will host the Aldreth Tug of War championship revival.
The Aldreth Village Centre can be hired for £12.00 per hour. For bookings, please contact Kim Smith on 01353 740272 firstname.lastname@example.org.
